Sizing from the bottle, not the label

Two bottles marked 750 ml can differ enough that an insert cut for one will not accept the next batch. We ask for overall height, maximum diameter, and filled weight. Those three measurements drive the tooling, and we prefer a physical bottle sample to confirm the profile before the insert is cut.

Four-point insert hold

The insert holds the bottle at four points, with no unsupported area at the neck or shoulder. Our check is simple: load the bottle, shake for ten seconds, no movement; tilt to 45 degrees, no slide; invert, no release. If it fails, we adjust the insert, not the packaging claims.

Board and facing paper

We use 1200 g greyboard as a minimum, and recommend 1400 g for spirits because of the filled weight. Facing paper is 157 g or heavier, specialty or coated. We do not use recycled greyboard, which collapses under load, or high-moisture stock, which warps in storage.

Structures for gifting and export

Rigid lid-and-base suits premium gifting. It opens slowly, feels ceremonial, and takes up more space. Magnetic flip-top suits shelf display and repeated opening, and we hold the magnet position to plus or minus 1 mm. Foldable rigid feels like a rigid box but ships flat, which helps when you are storing empty boxes for export.

Dark facing colours like black, deep blue and burgundy carry hot-foil best. Before shipping we run loaded boxes through a 1.2 m six-face drop, a top load of 40 kg or more for 24 hours, and truck and sea vibration simulation with no internal movement.
